Personnel Moves: Merrill Lynch promotes Ingram to senior financial adviser

MONTGOMERY -- Merrill Lynch announced that Marcy Ingram of the Montgomery office has earned the new title of senior financial adviser.

Ingram is a new resident of Wetumpka and has been a part of Merrill Lynch’s Montgomery office for five years after coming from another firm.
She attended Temple University’s undergraduate and graduate school.

Century 21 Professional Services adds sales associate
MONTGOMERY -- Century 21 Professional Services announced that Forrest Meadows has joined its firm as sales associate.

Meadows comes to Century21 Professional Services from Lowder New Homes. “We are thrilled to have Meadows with us,” said broker Chuck Stewart.

LWT Communications announces new hires

MONTGOMERY -- LWT Communications announced two staff additions.
Kathleen McCullough has joined the firm as production manager and Megan Singleton has assumed the position of traffic manager.

McCullough is a graduate of Auburn University with a degree in marketing. Her previous experience includes print production management at O2 Ideas in Birmingham and Steele Marketing in Alexander City.

Singleton attended Troy University and recently relocated to Montgomery from Nashville, Tenn., where she worked for the law firm of Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis, LLP.

ABC32 WNCF-TV hires sports director

MONTGOMERY -- ABC32 WNCF-TV announced that Adam Bagni is the station’s new sports director.

Bagni, a native of Taunton, Mass., is a graduate of La Salle University, where he served as general manager of WEXP-AM 1600.

In addition, Bagni has worked as a PA for ESPN, Fox Sports and for NBC at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino.

LEGALimaging announces three client service representatives

MOBILE – LEGALimaging, LLC, announced that hiring of three client service representatives, one to serve each of Alabama’s Judicial Districts.
John L. Davis will manage the Northern District from the company’s Birmingham office.

He has 15-plus years experience in serving attorneys while working with West Legal Publishing and LexisNexis.

He received a bachelor’s degree from James Madison University and a juris doctorate degree from Mercer Law School.

In Montgomery, Teresa “Terrie” Tyson will manage the Middle District. She is a certified paralegal with more than 20 years experience in litigation support and firm management. She received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and a paralegal certificate from Auburn University.

The Mobile office welcomes Milton Hudson, who will manage the Southern District, North Florida and the Mississippi Coast. Hudson has 20-plus years experience in serving accountants and attorneys while working with Thompson/West and ProLaw.

He received a bachelor’s degree in finance from Auburn University, a master’s degree in business administration from the University of South Alabama and he is a certified public accountant

Accounting firm announces new manager, promotions

MONTGOMERY – The accounting firm of Carr, Riggs & Ingram, LLC, announced that Robert J. Miller III has joined the firm as a tax manager in the Montgomery office.
Miller provides tax and consulting services to closely-held companies, real estate companies, construction and non-profit organizations throughout Southeast.

Other promotions included Jamie Jackson and Robyn Bailey to senior accountant, Rachel
Sinks to manager and Kristi Smith to supervising senior accountant.

The firm, one of the largest in the Southeast, has 15 offices across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi and Tennessee.

Whitney National Bank announces staff changes

MONTGOMERY -- Whitney National Bank announced the addition of commercial banker Steve Hicks for the Montgomery area.

The bank also announced the promotion of Drue L. Tubbs as the treasury management sales specialist for the Central Alabama region.

“Steve brings 13 years of banking and financial experience with him,” said Whitney National Bank Regional President Gene C. Crane.

In his new position, Hicks will be responsible for the development and management of commercial, industrial and real estate relationships for the bank.

He received a bachelor’s degree from Auburn University’s Montgomery campus and a master’s degree from Troy University’s Montgomery campus, where he has served an adjunct professor of finance since 2001.

“Drue has done a great job in managing our Taylor Road branch and will now apply her 14 years of financial and banking experience in the important treasury management role,” Crane said.

In her new position, Tubbs will be responsible for assisting companies with managing their cash flow and processing deposits and payments more efficiently. She will be located in the administrative offices at the Carmichael Center.

She started her banking career as a part-time teller while attending Auburn University’s Montgomery campus. Tubbs is attending the Alabama School of Banking at the University of South Alabama in Mobile and will graduate in August.

W.R. Taylor & Co. hires treasurer, VP

MONTGOMERY – Frances Trott Jordan and Matt Edwards have joined W.R. Taylor & Co.

Jordan will serve as treasurer and Edwards as vice president of corporate finance.
Jordan is an 11-year veteran of the investment banking business and has an additional 22 years of accounting experience. She has worked for Thornton, Farish and Gauntt, Continental Eagle and Graham Packaging Co.

She is registered as the company’s financial and operations principal and will oversee all the firm’s financial affairs and will also assist with compliance to various agencies.

She is a native of Huntsville and received a bachelor’s degree in commerce and business administration from the University of Alabama.

Edwards, a native of Prattville, comes to W.R. Taylor & Co. from Column Capital (formerly Guilford Capital), where he served as vice president of acquisitions in the multi-family housing sector.

He will focus on the origination, development and management of taxable and tax-exempt bond transactions.

Edwards received a bachelor’s degree in corporate finance from the University of Alabama and his juris doctorate from the University of Alabama School of Law.

Law firm announces new shareholder

MONTGOMERY – Long-time Montgomery attorney James E. Davis Jr. has joined the law firm of Sasser, Sefton, Connally, Tipton & Davis as a shareholder.

Davis will continue to specialize in commercial real estate transactions and estate planning. Prior to entering private law practice in 1976, he served as legal counsel for the Internal Revenue Service.

The firm also announced that Tim Gallagher and Tripp Vickers have become associated with the firm. Gallagher and Vickers both graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law.

Business Council of Alabama adds two lobbyists

MONTGOMERY –- The Business Council of Alabama recently announced that Brandon Colvin and Claire Haynes have been named lobbyists for the governmental affairs department.
Before joining the statewide business association, Colvin worked with The Jones Group, LLC, in Montgomery, where he focused on developing strategies for the firm’s long- and short-term operations.

He was also responsible for the initial review of bills introduced into the Legislature, identifying and communicating to clients the status and content of legislation, preparing bill tracking reports and conducting legislative research for bill drafting.

Colvin also worked as a government relations associate with David Lowery & Associates, a Birmingham lobbying firm. While working with the firm, he helped secure funding and lobbied legislation on behalf of the Alabama Kidney Foundation, Alabama Towing and Recovery Association, Arrow Waste and the Birmingham Association of Realtors.

“Brandon is a young man of impeccable character who has the skills, capabilities and energy to succeed in the governmental affairs arena,” said Quentin Riggins, senior vice president for the BCA’s governmental affairs department and ProgressPAC director.

Colvin graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in English from Fisk University in Nashville, Tenn.

Haynes comes to BCA with a diverse professional background that includes political experience in campaign work, fund-raising and lobbying as well as marketing experience as an account representative and project consultant.

Just prior to joining BCA, Haynes served as an account executive for Palomar Insurance
Co. where she was responsible for specialty insurance product sales to 6,500 physicians in 43 states.

She previously served as a campaign coordinator for Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign and as a campaign manager for several state Senate candidates. She also served as government relations manager for the Medical Association of the state of Alabama, where she was a legislative liaison to 12,000 physicians.

“Claire comes to us with a varied background of health-related legislative and campaign experience,” Riggins said. “We look forward to her involvement with our governmental affairs team as we enter the 2008 legislative session. Claire’s experience within the medical field will be a valuable asset as she works closely with BCA’s health care committee to monitor public policy and effect pro-business change in a complex and costly area that is of paramount importance to BCA members.”

Law firm hires associate, announces new partner

MONTGOMERY – The law firm of Ball, Ball, Matthews & Novak, P.A., has announced that John W. Marsh has joined the firm as an associate.

He is a 2007 graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law and he will practice in the area of general civil litigation in the firm’s Montgomery office.

The firm also announced that William D. Montgomery Jr., has become a partner. He is a 2001 graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law and he will continue to practice in the Daphne office.
