MONTGOMERY -- Nine non-profit organizations from the River Region will benefit from advertising and marketing services provided by LWT Communications and LWT/KBK New Media in the companies’ fifth annual CreateAthon.

The event, scheduled for Sept. 21-Sept. 22, is a 24-hour work-around-the-clock effort that will provide free creative services to area non-profit organizations.

The companies received 35 applications from non-profit agencies requesting more than 75 projects. After analyzing each application, selections were made based on the mission of the organization, on the type of work requested and on how the firms’ expertise would most benefit the needs of each applicant.

The organizations selected as CreateAthon clients are: Leadership Montgomery, Montgomery Tree Committee, Montgomery Coalition of Historic Districts, Alabama-Tombigbee Clean Water Partnership, The Kelley Bartlett Conservancy, Tukabatchee Area Council/Boy Scouts of America, Catholic Social Services, Children's Trust Fund of Alabama and Alabama Council for Technology in Education.

"We’ll perform a range of services for the organizations during this 24-hour period," said agency partner Jim Leonard. "Projects range from Web development to logo design to strategic marketing planning to brochure development. It will be worth the lost revenue and sleep to provide these services to area organizations who normally couldn't afford them."
